Just read that. It’s just as good as the first one. If not better. I think if anything the storyline and dialogue improved, as well as the acting. Although saying that, for the first time I managed to guess what was going to happen next in a Tarantino film. During the fight between Beatrix and Elle, I knew how it was going to end.
However, this film ends pretty conclusively, so what could possibly happen in the rumoured Kill Bill Vol. 3?! Intrigued.

Decided to watch this last night and just finished watching the last 20 minutes as I kinda dozed off with it on. Don’t let that make you think this is a bad film though. I started watching it at 6:30 AM when I was exhausted and it kept me up for over an hour due to how incredible it was.
I sound like such a fan girl when I talk about Tarantino films, but the man is an absolute genius. Until I started my Media Production course, I never really paid attention to the directing of a film or the cinematography or any of the behind the scenes work. I mean, I could tell you if a film looked good, same as I could tell you if a video game had good graphics. But since I’ve started this course, I’ve really opened my eyes to the way a film really is rather than just the acting or whatever.
However, the acting in this film is just as good as all the other aspects. Uma Thurman always brings her ‘A game’ for Tarantino, but I think that’s the same for any actor. Speaking of which, I’m really looking forward to seeing how Leonardo DiCaprio performs in Django unchained. Hoping he acts to the level we know he’s capable of. I’m sure he will.
But yes, this film is incredible and you should definitely go watch it if you haven’t already. :)
I’m gonna watch Kill Bill 2 tonight probably, as that’s on netflix too.

Regular. Mundane. Forgettable. As I clearly showed by not realising I had seen this film before. It’s average. There’s some good acting in there. But as a film, it’s a sheep. It’s predictable. Enjoyable, but nothing special.

Watched this last night for like the 4th time. It’s an okay film. But compared to how good the TV show is/was (based on your personal opinion) it’s a bit of a let down. The animation is a lot more sharp than it was when the show originally started. But that’s to be expected. The storyline is good. But it’s the kind of thing they could have easily done in an episode and just cut it down by an hour.
I’m gonna have to be cynical and say they only did this because they wanted a big pay day. Which tbqh, they probably got.
Best part was Green Day. Until they died.

Incredible film from an incredible man. Is there a better director in modern cinema than Tarantino? The man is a fucking genius.Yes, he is aided by some brilliant acting, incredible editing, and near perfect cinematography. But lets be honest, its no coincidence that this man has delivered time and time again with his brilliance and zany ideas. If in the career I hope to have, I show a quarter of the undeniable talent this man has, I’ll be a very lucky, and probably very rich, man.
Personally, I don’t think this is his best film. Second best maybe to Pulp Fiction. I do need to re-watch resevoir dogs though, haven’t watched it since I was about 14, so I can’t really remember how good it is. But I certainly think this film is better than Kill Bill, Death Proof and the others.
How can a film that’s jam packed with action, comedy, suspense, and that ending not be considered incredible. I mean come on. If you don’t like this film you’re either squeamish, have no sense of humour, or are just plain stupid. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but seriously.
Brad Pitt gets the main plaudits for his acting, and yes, he was incredible, but I really think that Mélanie Laurent, as Shoshanna and Cristoph Waltz as Col. Hans Landa, are the actors that make this film more than just a good film, they add a sense of realism to the film, and that added substance makes the whole film a lot more realistic ans believable.

Wow. When I was told we were watching this I wasn’t sure what I’d make of it… But wow. It was really good.
Since I’ve started this course, I’ve developed a love for film that was not there before. And it feels good. I feel energised. I want to watch new films. I want to fill this blog with my thoughts of them. And I want to compile a massive database of my thoughts on films, even if it’s just for my benefit, not others.
Back to the film. Acting. Terrific. Every actor plays their role perfectly… Well… except one. I found Patrick Bauchau’s portrayal of Stephen to be really unbelievable and wooden. I think that the main issue was his casting. He didn’t suit the role. Why would the strong, beautiful, intelligent, brave character of Meg, portrayed perfectly by my new favourite actress (almost) Jodie Foster, be attracted to this old long haired man who seems to be weak. And are we really supposed to believe that HE left HER?! Really?! Still, this is one of the few flaws in this film.
It’s beautifully shot, the storyline isn’t too far-fetched. And it makes you think about things. The sense of empathy that I felt towards one of the villains was particularly interesting. But I think that’s meant, that’s why Fincher cast Forest Whitaker in the role.
On a final note, I can’t believe I enjoyed a Kristen Stewart film and actually enjoyed her acting. So so shocked considering how absolutely fucking dreadful she is in the Twishite saga.

Wow. Forgot how good this truly was. Rediscovered thanks to Netflix on my xbox… and just… wow. Seriously incredible stuff. The first series I just rewatched and it’s a truly brilliant piece of television. Innovative, intelligent and just incredible. Moving onto series 2, which in effect ruined it. It’s a good series in my opinion but the show, like many others like it, got fucked over by the 2007 writers guild strike. I only got to series 3 when I was watching it before so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens. If you haven’t seen heroes before, Watch it. If you don’t love it, you’re probably dumb. JK… but seriously…

Sorry for the lack of update. I promise I will watch more stuff and update this more regularly. Just a quick one. Watched this first lecture back in Film Studies. I’ve never properly watched it. And as ever, Will Smith is imperious. Is there a better modern day star? I don’t think so. He’s so good. We had a lecture that revolved around him and the hollywood star culture before hand. Got to make a presentation on star power this semester. I was actually going to do Will Smith, but now it feels like such a cop out… Hmmmmmm….

Have to blog about this. I haven’t been watching a lot of TV due to not having a TV at uni, but I caught this on BBC one last night and it blew my freaking mind. I thought the film with Robert Downey Jr. was good, but Benedict Cumberbatch blows him out of the water. So so good. He has just the right amount of wit and sarcasm that brings the character to life. Literally one of the most accomplished acting performances I have seen in a very long time.
It’s also written superbly by Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat and Steve Thompson. The dialogue and action fits perfectly together. It flows like a river cutting its way through countryside.
Seriously worth a watch.
P.S Lara Pulver is hot… You’re welcome

Okay, Not gonna lie, I barely watched this. It was on in the Background. But I still feel like I should blog about it.
Average. Good in places, but it drags on and on and on. The storyline is good. So is the cinematography. Sound is average, it seems a bit quiet. I don’t know whether that was my TV or my hearing or whether the film was actually quiet.
Nicole Kidman is gorgeous. Seriously, I’d leave a war and walk god knows how far to see her tits. So hot. Good acting too tbf. From everyone.
But yes, this film was rather average unfortunately.
